Anyone who wants to become a nurse must go through formal training.
A nursing associate is not a registered nurse, but with further training, it can be possible to ‘top up’ your training to become one. Parents often like to say they feel “proud” of their children. I’m probably a little less gushy than most, and I don’t use that word very often… But, tonight, I visited the nursing home where Grace is currently doing her CNA clinicals and I absolutely did feel PROUD! To see the love and compassion she shows to her patients and knowing the dedication she has demonstrated towards her clinical experience since the beginning is nothing short of amazing. She’s growing up. I am proud of her. That is all.
Programs and requirements for necessary nursing training.
Individuals interested in nurse training programs typically enroll in a year-long certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree program in the field. Happy #studentnurseday and how fitting that I’m studying for my final. This nursing journey has taken me to TWO completely different nursing programs and taking me longer than I originally planned and at times I get really down and upset with myself about the amount of time I am “behind” where I “should be” right now. BUT I can honestly say that God has a plan for everyone and this was my plan from the beginning from Him. If it wasn’t for this, so many things in my life wouldn’t be the same and I wouldn’t of met all the AMAZING people I have met out in Roxboro. I am truly grateful for everyone who has pushed me and believed in me for so long. Only one year left and I’ll officially have those letters behind my name.
In Oregon, we believe that everyone should have equitable access to health care. IP 1 sets a dangerous precedent by cherry picking which medical procedures insurance will and won’t cover. As a public health nurse who spent three decades working with at-risk mothers and children, I know that these medical choices should be made by patients in consultation with their provider, not the government.
